Persepolis has two parts, Persepolis 1 and 2. The first part is about the young Marjane or Marji as she is called in the novel, and the second part is the story of her return. However, it is the political stability and authoritarian suppressions of the common men that impressed heavily upon one. The freedom which people take for granted is seen to be challenged in her everyday life and every one of her character and event representations are seen to reflect on this oppression.
