Consequences of Global Operations
Zara’s design function comes in a relatively different way, the design input comes from three separate functions; the designers, the market specialist and the buyers who place orders onto suppliers. In each of their production facility the designer and market specialist works together for the development of a new product. This team works in constant collaboration with the retail store, which gives them the knowledge of what the customer needs and how they want the product to be.
