Australian Labour leader, Bill Shorten’s speech on inequality crisis in Australia, at Economic and Social Conference in Melbourne on 21st July 2017, had a powerful appeal with right use of rhetoric. The speech targeted at the conservative political mindset of government (opposition), by making inequality crisis as the centre of Shorten’s electoral campaign. In my opinion, Trump’s use of rhetoric was more to persuade the public more by deceiving and misleading them. Thus, I identify more with Mr. Bill Shorten, as his sentence “I think people are hungry for something more substantial” clearly synchronizes with his intent to win public support. However, his positive use of words would help him win the same as he talks about reforms in the tax system for future progress of the country with new investments in infrastructure and human capital. Hence, without devaluing or demeaning anyone, he has been successful in pointing out at the countries conservative and stuck political environment.
