Linguists have associated the formation and transfer of language to be associated with various linguistic factors. The study of Hickock, Bellugi and Klima has associated the organization of sign language with the neural organization (Hickock, Bellugi and Klima 129). The study states that language in humans is dominated through left hemisphere. Left hemisphere is associated with the neural system, which is very significant for the formation of the linguistic information. According to the Hickock, Bellugi and Klima, left hemisphere plays the significant role in comprehension and production of the sign language in deaf people. The sign ability of the deaf people is highly affected with neural system (131). Those who suffer from left hemisphere damage (LHD) display disruption in ability of producing signs.

The study of Petitto, Ann &Marentette (1493) has associated the ability of signing with the vocal babbling. The author states that vocal babbling is present in humans since the time they are very young in age. Small infants use vocal babbling to utter the recognizable words and use it in the form of sign language to convey the message to their mothers. Vocal babbling is associated with the anatomy of the vocal tract, which further involves the neural mechanism. The neural mechanism helps in controlling the motor function and helps in producing speech. The linguists have argued that shape of the language is associated with the properties of its production. It is also believed that producing language is the innate quality of the humans and this is why small infants at the age of 7 or 8 months are able to vocalize through vocal babbling. The study conducted the examination of the vocal babbling in deaf and hearing infants and it was examined that both types of infants were able to produce same quality gestures. However, the difference was established in manual babbling.
