Main objective of Systematic desensitization is to replace the conditioned stimulus with a positive response and activities that includes relaxation that is opposition of anxiety. Relaxation is the best way of dealing with tension and anxiety and it offers one a situation where mind and body feel a calmness that helps them to be free from all their negative aspects. Therapist would ask people to close their eyes, sit on a comfortable position and relax all muscles while paying close attention to breathing slowly and naturally, this is then followed by Hierarchy construction and the last stage of this process ends with Desensitization of stimulus. Hierarchy is just a list of the different things that seems to be fearful for an individual and anxiety-provoking. Desensitization deals with phobias and obsession of victim. This is an effective way for me to overcome all the psychological issues that I have in me and relaxation is the best procedure of this entire approach that would make me free from jealousy, anger and guilt which would make me happier than ever before. This process would completely finish bad behavioural habits in me and encourage me for a new start.
