The feminist lens furthermore reveals a girl who has taken charge of her households at a very early age and has taken responsibilities in her household such as keeping the house, hunting, trading, etc. This is felt even more as it is contrasted with her younger sister who is typically at the other end of the gender spectrum. Children scrounge for food and are controlled by people in order to fight for their entertainment. This dystopian vision is not much different from what happens in different parts of the world where children are still scrounging for food. Therefore, the movie in essence draws from facts, but presented them as dystopian fiction. This is a connection that the reader can make at all times.
