In Chinese literature, new styles of literature have been introduced. During the era of the Tang Dynasty, translation of literature of Buddhism had gained popularity and during the time, Chinese poems witnessed dominance of lines with rigid rhythms and fixed syllables. In such circumstances, translation of Buddhism texts introduced new styles in writing that were considered to be elegant long and freer while being inter connected (Zhang 2015). Initially, such new styles were primarily used for translation, but eventually spread in Chinese compositions. Among such new styles, the inter fusion of verse and prose narratives gained predominance in Chinese novels and short stories.
