The raw materials that are used in safe construction would vary based on time and the current needs. In the past, safe construction was mostly done with steel doors. However, then, as the security of these safe construction, came under scrutiny because of the breach in the form of cutting of doors with acetylene torches, and it was necessary to use cast iron with concrete or other materials. Minimum reinforcement concrete, hearth steel, and steel are some materials used, and in specific steel of different forms is the most used for bank vault and safes. For instance, “Body walls of material equivalent to at least 1″ open hearth steel with a minimum tensile strength of 50,000 P.S.I” is the description of one of the material used as per the required burglary defence classification. These classifications will lead to the selection of specific tensile strength and ultimately the final work is formed. Underwriter Laboratories standard if often used worldwide, so different forms of steel classified into different class strengths by UL standards can be applied based on the need.
