In present times, education is the primary need for an individual and a nation. It is important for people to be educated, both for their own growth and for the collective growth of the nation. Without proper educated individuals, the growth of a nation is certainly hampered. Thereby, it is important for the government of every nation to ensure that all the individuals are getting a proper education. In order to implement the same in a proper manner, governments of each and every nation create several educational policies. These policies are created for the purpose of upliftment of the society and its people. In this research, the discussion will be focussed on the importance of education policies. Further, the efforts of the educational policies to improve educational attainment will also be discussed.
Importance of education policies
The primary goals of the educational policies which are implemented by the government of the nations is to ensure that all the children are being provided with an equal education opportunities in spite of the increase diversities within the classroom. Bennett (2010) stated that the educational policies should be implemented in such a manner that they include the responsibility to implement the required changes in the way people are thinking and approaching the education. The policies are important as they ensure that all people should get the respect which they are deserving. Tharp (1994) stated that a result of increase in the diversity among different ethnic groups in the schools and colleges has led to the dynamic shift in the education. In the present times, a large number of schools in all parts of the world are focussing more and more on the culture in their policies. These schools also discuss a lot about the ways to create suitable educational culture within the classrooms and a friendly environment among teachers and students outside the class (DeBoer et al, 2000).
