The reason for incorporating the colour discussion is to explore into the ways in which the color combination can lead to the development of the theme. In the jewellery design, the use of colour is very important to add to the overall motif. However, modern jewellery design has an eclectic mix.. These are found to be colour contrast, the complementary use of colour in the design. In this section, the paper will introduce the general colour application in jewellery design. From a theoretical stand point, there must be use of three factors. It is the use of hue, lightness and purity comparison to analyse about the different colours in jewellery design. After this factor, the paper will discuss the application of galaxy colour in the jewellery. Colour is a broad theme that needs to incorporate a number of elements. These have been detailed in the following.
The colour hue regards as the name of a colour that can be represented exactly. If the compositions mixes are more than the distinction this colour is found to be less they can reduce the overall impact of the design (Berlin and Kay, 1969).. The relative colour hue ratio is formed by the difference of colour contrast. In the jewellery design, addition of the similar colour around the main body of the design, would give audience a sense of harmony that is fresh and bright. On the other hand, the application of the contrast or complementary colour would provide the people passionate emotions to the audience (Berlin and Kay, 1969).
Fundamentally different colours have different brightness that is evident in the process. The brightness contrast is found to be the contrast of different degree of the colour. This is also regard as the black-white contrast of the colour (Berlin and Kay, 1969). The higher brightness is able to provide pleasant, lively and soft emotions. On the contrary, the lower lightness gives people a thin dark and deep melancholy.
