Most commonly developed commercially available COX inhibitors are ibuprofen, piroxicam and mefenamic acid to name a few (Yaksh et al., 2001). Category 2 of the COX inhibitors function as rapid action drugs with significantly lower-affinity, it has been found that they are reversibly binding. Time-dependent, higher-affinity, slowly reversible binding of COX-1 and COX-2 drugs follows it. Category 3 of the COX inhibitors encompasses rapid reversible binding this is subsequently followed by covalent modification of COX-1 and COX-2 of the drug (FitzGerald, and Patrono,, 2001). Aspirin is the most common example of the category 3 of the COX inhibitors. These COX inhibitors are found to have a number of purposes (Hawkey, 1999). It has been found to be useful in treatment of spondylitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, acute pain, and menstrual cramps to name a few. These drugs have the ability to deal with a number of potential health conditions (Hawkey, and Langman, 2003). NSAID drugs function as COX inhibitor drugs. Some of the functions of the COX inhibitor drugs also have adverse reactions to the body. It has been found that the COX inhibitors affect the prostaglandin stomach wall lining of the body (Rao, and Knaus, 2008). This causes the body to develop ulceration and peptic ulcers. When combinations of COX inhibitors are taken there are adverse detrimental effects to the body. It can even cause mortality issues to the body (Munir, Enany, Zhang, 2007). One of the most popular kinds of COX inhibitor drug that is found in the market is the Ibuprofen.
